Tire Size Chart For Bicycle Rim
When you are going to buy bicycle rims, you may also consider what size of tire to use on it.
Or you may already have tire and are wondering which size of rim would fit your tire.
Improper tire size could cause damage on the rim may put rider in danger.
If the tire is too narrow, you may suffer more pinch flats and blowout.
If the tire is too wide, you may suffer tire burping. The stability and controllability will be weakened.
This chart will provide guidance on what tires sizes can match your internal rim width.
Please note, when you look at the table, the width of rim should be “inner width”.

The chart is based on ETRTO, combining with our rim-tire compatibility tests (selected common tires).
This chart serves as a general guidence. Other factor (different design in tire, air pressure, etc) will also affect the compatibility.
If you are not quite sure, it would be better that you double check with tire supplier.
We don’t suggest choosing the largest or smallest values of a size range. For example, with a range from 1.9” to 2.1”, 2.0” is an optimal option for most riders. Which will better fit the rim, easier for assembly, and provides best performance of tire/rim combination.
